Community

Tucker Parman // 3.22.26

In this final message of our Healthy Church series, we zoom in on the importance of Christian community and why we are designed to need one another. Drawing from three biblical examples, we explore the blessings of guidance, restoration, and companionship that flow from living life together with other believers. Whether you find yourself needing someone to walk alongside you in your faith, or sensing a call to step deeper into the body of Christ, this message is an invitation to open your life to the body of Christ.

Tithing

Kyle Smith // 3.15.26

A healthy church is an engaged church, and one of the ways we engage with God and His mission is through our finances. While Christians debate whether tithing is commanded or simply a baseline for generosity, Scripture consistently calls believers to give intentionally, joyfully, and in trust that everything we have comes from God. Tithing is not about pressure or avoiding a curse, but about placing God first, fighting greed, and investing in the mission of the local church.

Stewarding Before Giving

Kyle Smith // 3.8.26

One of the most important steps towards honoring God with our money is recognizing that we are stewards, not owners. When we believe that all we have belongs to the Lord, we will learn to use His resources the way that He directs. Biblical stewardship is not a path towards financial bodange, but is an expression of God's kindness towards us.

Least Before Greater

Kyle Smith // 3.1.26

Faithfulness with finances is not a mark of spiritual maturity but the starting point of basic obedience. Money is not “true riches,” but a testing ground that reveals whether we truly trust God and are ready for greater spiritual responsibility.

Look to the Ant

Kyle Smith // 2.22.26

The gospel does not invite us into idle belief but into active obedience. As we talk about engaging by serving, we follow Proverbs and look to the ant. Each of us carries responsibility for the health of the whole, and every person has a part in what God is building at Anchor.

Before, During, After

Kyle Smith // 2.15.26

There should be thoughtfulness and expectation from every believer for every assembly. This is a very practical teaching on how to intentionally engage before, during, and after church services.

Beginning Disciplines

Kyle Smith // 2.8.26

There are many spiritual disciplines for followers of Christ to grow in. These disciplines are certainly private disciplines of engagement with the Lord, but they are also to be corporate disciplines to engage deeper with each other. This message looks at how the Bible, prayer, and fasting are to be done in isolation, but also with other believers.

Engaged in Worship

Spencer Powell // 2.1.26

Engagement and expression in worship all boils down to a response to who Jesus is and what He has done for us. In this message, Spencer walks us through a case study of Mary of Bethany who pours her worship at Jesus' feet, preparing Him for his burial. She didn't care who was watching, she only cared about giving an extravagant offering of worship to King Jesus.

Committing

Kyle Smith // 1.25.26

Throughout Scripture, turning to Jesus immediately led to belonging and devotion to the Body of Christ and the fellowship of believers. There just is not a category for followers of Jesus who are independent and disconnected from the local church. Our faith is a faith that is to be experienced in faithful community.

The Mission of the Church

Tucker Parman // 1.18.26

The church is not a building or a service, but a gathered people called to continue the mission of Jesus. Looking to his life and teaching, we see how worship, the gospel, and the Kingdom of God shape both the mission of the church and our everyday lives as its members.

Choosing a Church

Kyle Smith // 1.11.26

Choosing a church community to engage with is not just a logistical decision, but a spiritual one. This message focuses on what factors should be considered when deciding on engaging with a local church.

How God Sees the Church

Kyle Smith // 1.4.26

As we begin this new series, it is important to define what the church is and how God sees it. Too often we determine our engagement with the church only through our experiences without considering His.
